Residential burning ban reduces ozone in four Indiana counties. Because of unacceptably high ozone levels in Lake, Porter, Clark and Floyd counties, residential open burning in incorporated
areas, including yard waste, is illegal. The law prohibiting open burning is part of the regional ozone-cutting effort. Other clean air measures involve industries and motor vehicles.
